Sacred Music Colloquium XXIII
The colloquium's staying in Salt Lake City this June, meaning it's quite reachable for us. Information here. Last year, the question may have been, who from RPC didn't go?
And who's up for lobbying for it to come to Reno next year?
Want. Or at least desire.
Check out the features of the CMAA's Parish Book of Chant. It seems to go the Liber Cantualis a few better.
Now, again, we just need the ducats to buy some.

Requiescat in Pace
Msgr. Leo McFadden has gone on to his eternal reward. According to Kathy, the former pastor of Our Lady of the Snows parish had been Regina Pacis' staunchest supporter. She adds:
I have no idea, at this point, what (if anything) will be asked of Regina Pacis regarding his funeral Mass. I don’t even know where it will be. Clearly, his preference would be Our Lady of the Snows but there is bound to be a large gathering and the church simply may not be big enough. When she knows, I'll know, and when I know, you'll know. (ETA: His funeral was at St. Rose of Lima on Friday, Feb. 15.)
In the meantime, Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen.

How To Write A Worship Song (In Five Minutes Or Less)
I hate criticizing the "praise and worship" music I helped perpetrate as recently as a decade ago.
Okay, I LOVE criticizing the "praise and worship" music I helped perpetrate as recently as a decade ago.

Solemn High Traditional Latin Mass, National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi, San Francisco
Chris, Shirley, and Sarah Beasley and Bob Buschine had the privilege of singing with Dr. William Mahrt's Schola Cantorum of Saint Ann from Palo Alto during a Solemn High Traditional Latin Mass at the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi, following the West Coast Walk for Life in San Francisco on January 26. Hear them throughout this video:
Our own Fr. Francisco said the Mass. Check out Jay Balza's pictures here, from which the above picture comes.
