We're Splitting Up

(Caption: "I would say 'It's Not You, It's Me' except it's you."

Yes, we are splitting up, but only for a couple weeks. Rather than take a full rehearsal off this Tuesday, April 3, that will be a rehearsal night for the sopranos and altos only. Then on April 10, they get to relax while the tenors and basses have their own rehearsal. This is not unlike in baseball where, during spring training, teams will often send a "split squad" to play two separate games on the same day or night. [ETA: Actually, for that analogy to work, there would have to be members of all four parts at each rehearsal. Oh, well.]

So, to repeat:

Tuesday, April 3 rehearsal: Sopranos/altos only

Tuesday, April 10 rehearsal: Tenors/basses only

Tuesday, April 17 rehearsal: Our whole dysfunctional choir family

DUN DUN! (Or whatever that "Law & Order" sound is)

WANTED
by RPC, CMAA, FBI, CIA, CBS, MTV, NHL, PPM, USB, and FTD

for TEMPO EVASION [1] / FLAT SINGING / ICE SHAVING / MILK SKIMMING / "NEVADA" MISPRONOUNCING

Sandra "The Needle" Turner and Paul "The Shiv" Turner [2]

They are considered unhinged and ridonculous. If spotted, ignore 'em.

REWARD: Get real.

Just our "mug shot" from our recent visit to the fascinating Mob Museum in Las Vegas; Kathy thought it worthy of a post. To make this at least a little more related to RPC, St. Bridget offers Sunday EF Masses in Las Vegas, if you're there in the future.

And here's that Law & Order "dun dun" noise.

[1] Hey, if they got Al Capone for tax evasion...(Thanks to Mark "The Canary" Blocker)

[2] Thanks in part to the Mob Museum's Mob Nickname Generator.

The Friars' Farewell Mass

(I think it's safe to say the Friars won't be dressed like Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, or Eric Clapton. Nor will they fight as much as Baker and the late Bruce did, with Clapton often forced to play referee.)

Kathy has announced Fr. Francisco Nahoe and Fr. Paul Fazio will be offering the Friars' final First Friday High Mass as a Solemn High Mass, requiring a third visiting Friar, on Friday, June 1. The Friars will be leaving Reno later that month. This will be the first Solemn High Mass we have been part of since Fr. Timothy O'Brien's First Mass at Holy Spirit Mission in June 2015. We'll want to give our all for such a memorable -- and slightly melancholy -- Mass, for we have no idea when or if we will ever sing for one in the Cathedral again.

Call time will be 5:45 PM or whenever you can arrive from work.
